During his tenure, he presided over a number of tumultuous events including the series of bomb threats in that interrupted the 1995-96 school year as well as a [[PHS football sex scandal|sex scandal]] in which eight students (including seven members of the [[PHS Tigers]] football team) received oral sex from a 15-year-old special education student in a stadium locker room. They were eventually charged with lewd and lascivious assault on a child under 16.
