- 1862 – The Hyer-Knowles Planing Mill, having been stripped of machinery by Confederate General Braxton Bragg, is razed as part of the "scorched earth" evacuation. The surviving brick chimney is now part of Chimney Park.
- 1885 – The Old Escambia County Courthouse is completed.
- 1993 – Anti-abortion activist Michael Griffin shoots and kills Dr. David Gunn outside the Women's Medical Services clinic.
- 2015 - A Black Hawk helicopter crashes into Santa Rosa Sound near Navarre, resulting in the deaths of four US Marines and seven US Army National Guard soldiers.
- 2019 - Country music artists The Zac Brown Band, along with Moon Taxi, performed at The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach.
