Escambia County Fire & Rescue proudly operates as a combination fire service, utilizing the talents and diversities of volunteer and career fire fighting personnel. Twenty-two fire stations are located throughout the county. Volunteer firefighters operate out of fifteen stations, while career firefighters operate out of eleven stations throughout Escambia County. Seven of the career companies are manned 24 hours a day. While four of the career companies operate Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., during the rest of the time volunteer companies provide fire fighting and other emergency services. The Current Fire Chief is Patrick T. Grace.
==History== In 2000, Escambia County Fire Rescue was established to add career personnel to the fire protection ranks. The volunteer fire departments and ECFR were consolidated in 2008 to create a “combination fire department.” Today volunteers and career personnel work together to provide emergency and non-emergency services in Escambia County.
