Following Hobbs untimely death in 1982, it remained closed for several months and then reopened as Jerry's Rock and Roll Showcase, and so changed it's theme. Ownership was assumed by Hobbs sister, Barbara McDuffie, and managed by former news reporter David Jenkins - who sang the closing number of House Of The Rising Sun with every band that performed there under his management.
Jerry's hosted live touring rock bands, as well as locals such as Flame and The Heaters, RMS Express, The Beach Monkeys, and Baghdad and Slayer every Sunday Night. After approximately twelve years in business, the establishment closed in the spring of 1985. Not long after that, the building was demolishedand a car wash was constructed.
In the end, a man Jerry (last name escapes me) was the owner during Flame and the Heaters house job there, with Slayer every Sunday. Jerry was shot and killed in a domestic dispute and that was the end of the business.
