Name for Spanish Pensacola, 1781-1821
What should we call this period of Spanish rule? I'd like to work on article of citizens from this time, but I'm not sure how to categorize them. "Residents of Pensacola's third Spanish period"? "Citizens of second Spanish Florida"? "Pensacolians during Spanish rule, 1781-1821"? --Admin 11:07, 17 May 2008 (CDT)
*I'd prefer the latter out of those three choices. dscosson ··· talk 13:24, 17 May 2008 (CDT)
* Or you could say "Spanish West Florida," as the Spanish administration during the second period took over the British division of Florida into East and West: in Spanish, Florida Oriental and Florida Occidental. The line was at the Appalachicola River IIRC. Florida Occidental extended to the Mississippi River before 1810, but was whittled away by U.S. exploits 1810-1813, until it comprised only the present-day Panhandle. — 131.204.232.196 11:52, 1 December 2010 (CST)
