On stage Eschar is known for his wild and confrontational stage antics. His artwork and lyrical style is often referred to as convoluted , misogynistic and fatalistic.
Eschar's stage moniker is a bastardization of his name with ''Mod'' being his first name spelled backwards, and his last name spelled backwards (''Ecirp'') resembling the word ''Eschar'', a medical term for a scabby gangrenous wound. His reasoning for the pseudonym is both artistic and practical as it reflects the negative aspects of Price's personality; which he prefers to keep separated from his professional life as a programmer.
