The club was established by [[Terry Johnson]] and [[Nick Flynn]] in 1988{{date uncertain}} as '''Victor Hugo's'''. The name was changed to Sluggo's in March [[1990]]. Originally located at 319 North [[Tarragona Street]] (now the [[HandleBar]]), the club moved to [[Intendencia Street]] in [[1993]] and again to [[130 South Palafox Street|130 South]] [[Palafox Street]] in [[1995]].
