The company was founded by Friedman's uncle, [[Oscar S. Willenzik|Oscar]], and grandfather, [[William Willenzik|William]]. Company employees also included Friedman's mother, [[Carla Willenzik|Carla]], and aunt, [[Ethel Willenzik|Ethel]]. Marcy worked at Penko for a number of years as purchasing manager.
