The system includes [[Baptist Hospital]], which opened its doors on [[October 16]], [[1951]], as well as [[Gulf Breeze Hospital]], the [[Andrews Institute]], [[Baptist Medical Park]], the [[Lakeview Center]], [[First Rehab]], [[Portofino Medical Spa]], [[Baptist Manor]] nursing home, [[Jay Hospital]], and [[Atmore Community Hospital]]. In total BHC employs more than 5,500 people.
On [[June 26]], [[2008]], Baptist Health Care announced an [[Baptist Health Care expansion|expansion project]] that includes acquiring [[West Florida Hostital]] for $245 million, plus $85 million in new construction.
