Thomas Joseph Hanlon, Jr. served as general manager of the Pensacola Electric Company from November 1913 until 1919.
Hanlon, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, attended the prestigious Boston Latin School. Upon graduation, he began working in the Boston offices of Stone & Webster, the corporate owner of the Pensacola Electric Company in 1907. Later that year he was transferred to Dallas Street Railways, Stone & Webster's subsidiary in Dallas, Texas, where he worked for ten months before being transferred again to Pensacola. Hanlon rose up the ranks, working as motorman, conductor, inspector, and track foreman before being promoted to superintendent in 1909, and general manager in November 1913. He served in that capacity until 1919, when he was promoted to manager of Stone & Webster's Tampa Electric Company.
