A small college prep school
Founded in 1969 in the former nursing school of the old Sacred Heart Hospital on at 900 N.Twelfth Avenue. A private college preparatory school that required academic testing for entrance.
Grades 89-12 initially, expanded to 7-12.
Cost about $1,000 per student per year.
The Academy closed in 1975.
The building sat empty for many years, but is now the home of Saltmarsh, Cleaveland and Gund CPAs.
