Eschar's stage moniker is a bastardization of his name with ''Mod'' being his first name spelled backwards, and his last name spelled backwards ''Ecirp'' resembling the word ''Eschar'', a medical term for an a scabby gangrenous wound. His reasoning for the pseudonym is artistic as it reflects the negative aspects of Price's personality; which he prefers to keep separated from his professional life as a programmer.
