Professor John Hunter Workman (1875-?) was a prominent educator and longtime principal of the Pensacola High School and Grammar Schools.

Born in Tennessee, Workman received an L.I. degree from Peabody College and an A.B. degree from the University of Nashville.

Prior to his arrival in Pensacola in the early 1920s, Workman held supervising principal positions in Ocala and Miami. He was named president of the Florida Education Association in 1917 and a member of the State Textbook Commission from 1920-1921. He was also a member of the Commission of Institutions of Higher Learning of the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and a member of a committee to revise the state course of study.

Workman Middle School is named for him.
