Gonzalez court
Gonzalez Court is a low-income housing project located in the Eastside neighborhood. It is located along 9th avenue, between Baars street and Fisher street. Gonzalez Court is one of several sites operated by the Area Housing Commission to provide affordable rental housing to low-income families. Gonzalez Court is a 98-unit public housing property built in 1996. It is conveniently located in East Pensacola near Sacred Heart Hospital, Cordova Mall, various shopping centers, and restaurants. It also has a community center and basketball courts. Some Eastside natives refer to the projects as simply "the courts", some go even as far as to call it the "Capital of the Eastside" because of the importance the neighborhood has had on the Eastside community. Statements have been made that "you can't truly say you're from the Eastside if you've never been to the Courts"
