The Escambia County Administrator is the executive head of Escambia County, Florida. The position is appointed by the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners and is responsible for carrying out the decisions made by the Board.
The most recent administrator is George Touart, who served from April 2002 until September 2007, when he resigned following criticism of his personal dealings with entities that do business with the County. His salary at the time of his resignation was $155,252 annually, plus various benefits.
Assistant County Administrator Bob McLaughlin will serve as interim administrator until a replacement for Touart can be found.
