Pelican is a free weekly newspaper published by Gannett Company, which also publishes the Pensacola News Journal and others in the area. It serves the areas of southwest Escambia County and southern Baldwin County, including Perdido Key, Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan, Foley, Elberta and "points beyond." The content and editorial style of the paper reflects the laid-back "island lifestyle" of its intended readership.
