- 1846 – Augustus E. Maxwell takes office as Attorney General of Florida.
- 1988 - Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd performs at the civic center.

- 2020 - The Pensacola City Council voted 6-1 to remove the Confederate monument at Lee Square, and voted 7-0 to rename the location Florida Square.
