The Ecstatic Hotline was an entertainment hotline run by a man who called himself "John Almighty." His real name was rumored to be John Rustan, and he was said to be a local radio DJ. Callers to the hotline listened to a recorded message that contained music, thoughts by John Almighty, and material recorded by other callers. At the end, callers could leave a message to possibly be used in future outgoing recordings.
The Ecstatic Hotline was active during the early 1990s. The messages contained political content leading up to the 1992 election.
After John Almighty became a Christian, the format and name of the Ecstatic Hotline changed to reflect the host's religious leanings.
