- 1763 – Second Spanish period: Colonel Augustine Prevost sails from Havana, Cuba with four ships and 350 men on their way to accept the transfer of Florida from Spain to Great Britain.
- 1861 – Fort Pickens received Union reinforcements of New York Volunteers, but Colonel Harvey Brown informed the Secretary of War that more were needed to defend against an anticipated Confederate assault.
- 2005 – Hurricane Dennis made landfall. Barry Howard delivered his first sermon as pastor of First Baptist Church.
