An Evening in Old Seville Square was a festival that took place in Seville Square from 1966 to 1972.[date uncertain]
It was inspired by "A Night in Old San Antonio" (or NIOSA), which Carolyn and Jack Fleming had seen during a trip to the Texas city. It was developed by Mary Turner Rule, the Junior League of Pensacola and the nascent Pensacola Heritage Foundation.[1]
The festival was succeeded by the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival in 1973. In 1987, Jim Tanck revived the entertainment element of the old "Evening" as Evenings in Olde Seville Square, a concert series held every Thursday during the summer months.
