- 1698 – Presidio Santa María de Galve: An expedition under Juan Jordán de Reina sailed from Havana, Cuba, to secure Pensacola Bay.
- 1814 – Capture of Pensacola: Andrew Jackson arrived at Pensacola with a contingent of American troops and attempted to communicate with the Spanish governor, Mateo Gonzáles Manrique, but was fired upon.
