• 1915 – Henry C. Mustin made the first catapult launch of an aircraft from the USS North Carolina anchored off the Naval Aeronautical Station.
• 1987 – A 3.145-acre area north of College Boulevard and west of 9th Avenue was annexed by petition into the City of Pensacola.
• 2002 – The first City of Pensacola election took place under its amended government in which the mayor (John Fogg) is elected.
• 2005 – The Pensacola News Journal launched its new website domain, pnj.com.
