- 1971 - JM Fields and Pantry Pride, located at Fairfield Drive and Mobile Highway, were the first two stores to open as part of the newly-constructed Westwood Mall, which opened less than two weeks later.
- 2006 – The Pensacola City Council votes 5-4 to cancel a planned referendum on increasing the Downtown Improvement Board district, citing an undue burden on the residents who might be affected by the additional taxes. Congress designates the downtown post office in honor of late Mayor Vince Whibbs.
- 2010 - Rock musician Neil Young performed at the Saenger Theater.
- 2012 - Country music artists Rascal Flatts and Little Big Town performed at the Pensacola Civic Center.
- 2019 - Country music artist Shooter Jennings performed at Vinyl Music Hall, and psychedelic music artists Vanilla Fudge performed at the Rex Theatre.
