- 1698 – Andrés de Arriola arrives in Pensacola Bay to establish the Presidio Santa María de Galve.
- 1987 - Pop / soul music icon Tina Turner performed at the civic center. The original date scheduled for September 23 had been cancelled, as was her November 21 concert in Mobile.
- 2000 – Jim Paul begins his tenure as Escambia County Superintendent of Schools.
- 2002 – The Pensacola City Council approves the Festival Park conceptual plan for the Trillium Property, including a replacement for the aging Bayfront Auditorium.
- 2004 – The local Krispy Kreme franchise is purchased by the corporate office.
