• 1861 – Civil War: State troops seize the federal arsenal at Apalachicola.
• 1903 – Arthur Herbert D'Alemberte completes his tenure as Escambia County Tax Collector.
• 1921 - The decommissioned battleship USS Massachusetts, after being used for target practice and bombardment, was scuttled near the entrance to Pensacola Bay.
