- 1872 – The Pensacola & Louisville Railroad Company is reorganized as the assignee of the bankrupt Alabama & Florida Railroad.
- 1976 – Escambia High School riots: An impromptu election is held at Escambia High School in which students voted whether to keep the temporary name "Raiders" for their athletic teams, or revert to the name "Rebels," which had been deemed "racially irritating" by U.S. District Court Judge Winston E. Arnow. The students who preferred "Rebels" failed to obtain the needed supermajority, which led to the next day's riots.
- 2008 – The drug trial of restaurateur Rogelio Galvan Chavez begins.
