'''Matt Martin''' was the teenage son of local surfer and businessman [[Robin Martin]] who was killed in a skateboarding accident on {{date needed}}[[February 2]], [[1997]], on [[Linden Avenue]] in [[Gulf Breeze]]. The [[Matt Martin Surf Contest]] is held every year, sponsored by [[Innerlight Surf Shop]]. Proceeds from the event go to help members of the surfing community with medical needs, like [[Cody Cobia]] and [[Tom Davis]].
