- 1821 – Florida is divided by the Suwannee River into two counties: Escambia and St. Johns.
- 1864 – Civil War: 1,100 Union soldiers under Brigadier General Alexander Asboth depart Fort Barrancas to rendezvous with Sherman's Army.
- 1892 – Congress grants the Mexican Gulf, Pacific and Puget Sound Railroad Company an easement through the Fort Barrancas Military Reservation.
- 1931 – Pensacola adopts a new charter featuring a City Manager/Council form of government.
