- 1916 – The Gulf, Florida & Alabama Railroad opens, connecting to the Southern Railroad at Kimbrough, Alabama.[1]
- 1999 – Construction begins on the Dr. Philip A. Payne Bridge over Bayou Texar.
- 2005 – Community Maritime Park: Raad Cawthon of E. W. Bullock Associates writes email describing five council members "in our pocket." This email was obtained through public records by park opponents and cited as evidence of impropriety.
- 2007 – Kent Hovind is sentenced to ten years in federal prison for crimes relating to his evasion of federal taxes.
