- January 19 – Kent Hovind is sentenced to ten years in federal prison for crimes relating to his evasion of fedeal taxes
- February 24 – Black History Arts Festival
- March 26 – The Pensacola Ice Pilots announce that Escambia County has agreed to release them from the final year of their lease in the Pensacola Civic Center, and and that they would not return for the 2007-08 season
- April 12 – The Pensacola Ice Pilots and Escambia County reach an agreement to keep the team in Pensacola through at least the 2007-08 season
- May 19-20 – First annual Hawkshaw Music Fest is held in downtown Pensacola
- May 26 – The Korean War memorial is dedicated
- June 26 – A referendum to increase the sales tax in Escambia County by one half-cent in order to fund primary healthcare for uninsured residents is held
