Escambia County Fire Rescue
Escambia County Fire & Rescue proudly operates as a combination fire service, utilizing the talents and diversities of volunteer and career fire fighting personnel. Twenty-two fire stations are located throughout the county. Volunteer firefighters operate out of fifteen stations, while career firefighters operate out of eleven stations throughout Escambia County. Seven of the career companies are manned 24 hours a day. While four of the career companies operate Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., during the rest of the time volunteer companies provide fire fighting and other emergency services. The Current Fire Chief is Jason Catrambone.

History
In 2000, Escambia County Fire Rescue was established to add career personnel to the fire protection ranks. The volunteer fire departments and ECFR were consolidated in 2008 to create a “combination fire department.” Today volunteers and career personnel work together to provide emergency and non-emergency services in Escambia County.

Personnel
The Escambia County Fire Rescue, led by Fire Chief Jason Catrambone, is organized into five divisions: Administrative Services, Fire Prevention, Operations, Logistics, and Training. Each of the divisions is managed by a chief officer. The county is divided into 2 Battalions. Each Battalion is overseen by a Battalion Chief who manages day-to-day operations and functions as the incident commander at various emergency scenes.

To become a volunteer firefighter, requardless of what station you want to be at, you have to first fill out an applications for the volunteer fire service.
