• 1698 – Presidio Santa María de Galve: An expedition under Juan Jordán de Reina sailed from Havana, Cuba, to secure Pensacola Bay.
• 1814 – Capture of Pensacola: Andrew Jackson arrived at Pensacola with a contingent of American troops and attempted to communicate with the Spanish governor, Mateo Gonzáles Manrique, but was fired upon.
• 1865 – Jasper Strong died.
• 2001 – Festival Park: Detailed plans released for 73,000-square-foot auditorium, outdoor theater and 3,000-seat exhibit hall.
