The Escambia County Administrator is the executive head of Escambia County, Florida. The position is appointed by the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners and is responsible for carrying out the decisions made by the Board.
The previous County Administrator was George Touart, who served from April 2002 until September 2007, when he resigned following criticism of his personal dealings with entities that do business with the County. His salary at the time of his resignation was $155,252 annually, plus various benefits.
Bob McLaughlin serves as the current County Administrator. He joined the County staff in 1996 as Deputy Public Works Director, moved to the Engineering Department in 1999 as Chief of Construction Management, and was acting Parks & Recreation Director prior to being appointed Assistant County Administrator on October 1, 2002 and on February 7, 2008 appointed as County Administrator.
