Jackson's was opened in 1999 by Barry Phillips and Irv Miller, who served as general manager and executive chef, respectively. In March 2008 the restaurant was purchased by Collier Merrill's Great Southern Restaurant Group. Phillips and Miller will continue to manage the restaurant as operating partners.[1]

Building
The brick building that houses the restaurant was built in 1880 for Henry Pfeiffer's grocery store.[2] It changed hands many times in subsequent years. After the closing of Peaden's Office Supply in August 2000, the building was purchased by architect Brian Spencer and Dr. Roger Orth. They orchestrated the extensive renovations, which included removing the stucco veneer, adding floor-to-ceiling windows and doors (to "bring Plaza Ferdinand into the restaurant"[2]), and restoring the second floor as two apartments, which they occupied with their families.
Hours and information
Jackson's opens at 5:30 Monday through Saturday. A "prelude menu" featuring a discounted table d'hôte selection is available until 6:00.
The phone number is (850) 469-9898.
