She received her B.A. in English from North Carolina State University and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
Terry was appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to the Florida Technology, Research, and Scholarship Board on February 21, 2008. On April 11, 2008, she was selected by the Community Maritime Park Associates Board to replace Hugh King, who had been removed after pleading no contest to charges of cocaine possession.
