The Silver Screen Theatre[1]is Escambia county's only locally owned and operated movie theatre. It is also Escambia county's longest running movie theatre. The theater features first-run movies at a discounted price.
In September 2013, the owners announced the closure of the theatre.[1]
Unique Features
It is unique in the modern era of the multiplex as it offers table seating with movable chairs. The theater was upgraded following Hurricane Ivan to offer digital quality sound and LCD digital S-XGA resolution. Additionally, beyond the usual movie theater fare the Silver Screen offers burgers, fries, chicken tenders, wings, pizza and shrimp. It is also the only movie theater in Escambia County to serve beer and wine coolers.[2]
