Events
- 1699 – First Spanish period: French ships under Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville leave Spanish-occupied Pensacola Bay, going westward to found French Louisiana.
- 1858 – The Selma & Gulf Railroad Company is incorporated.[1]
- 1871 – A joint resolution of Congress grants the Pensacola & Barrancas Railroad Company an easement through the Navy Yard reservation.[2]
- 1903 – Five tons of condemned dynamite are detonated near Fort Pickens, about a mile away from the battery. The resulting explosion created a hole "large enough to hide a house" on the beach and was felt across Pensacola Bay in the city, cracking plaster and shattering windows.[3]
- 2001 – A special municipal election is held in the City of Pensacola.
