John de la Rua was a prominent Pensacolian of the 19th century.

La Rua served as an alderman in the city government in (at least) 1822, 1825, 1827, 1828, and 1841[1], and as Mayor of Pensacola in 1822 and 1823.

John de la Rua is buried in St. Michael's Cemetery.
