I concur with the spelling "Christen". I have a copy of Thiesen's U.S. naturalization document, which gives his name as "Christen U. Thiesen". I am a great-grandson of Thiesen. [[User:Thiesen|Thiesen]] 02:51, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Looking at a low-res image of Thiesen's gravestone ([http://www.uwf.edu/gis/smc/images/476.jpg]), his middle name is either Ustrup or Usirup.  Personally, the third letter looks more like an "I" to me, but according to the Google, "Ustrup" is Danish.  I'm going with that. I agree. I learned from my family (I am a great-grandson of Thiesen) that his middle name was "Ustrup". Also, a document by Leora Sutton in the archives of the University of West Florida gives the middle name as "Ustrup". [[User:Thiesen|Thiesen]] 02:51, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Thiesen's gravestone ([1]) spells his name CHRISTEN. Should we defer to that spelling? dscosson ··· talk 17:50, 7 April 2008 (CDT)

Middle name

Looking at a low-res image of Thiesen's gravestone ([2]), his middle name is either Ustrup or Usirup. Personally, the third letter looks more like an "I" to me, but according to the Google, "Ustrup" is Danish. I'm going with that. dscosson ··· talk 17:50, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
