Horace Jones is the former principal of Pensacola High School who was removed in 1996 for allegedly attempting to cover up the PHS football sex scandal.
Jones was appointed principal when Principal Cone transferred to District Office in 1994. During his tenure, he presided over the series of bomb threats that interrupted the 1995-96 school year as well as a sex scandal in which eight students (including seven members of the PHS Tigers football team) received oral sex from a 15-year-old special education student in a stadium locker room. They were eventually charged with lewd and lascivious assault on a child under 16.
