Giuseppe "Joe" Patti (1901-1992) was a Sicilian fishing boat captain who founded the Joe Patti Seafood Company.
Born in 1901 to a fishing family in Riposto, Sicily, Patti voyaged to New York City in 1919 and moved to the Pensacola area, where he found work on snapper boats and eventually became captain of his own ship. In 1928 he met Anna Patane, another Sicilian immigrant, and they married in 1930. In 1931 Joe and Anna began selling seafood — mainly bait shrimp — from the back porch of their home, and in 1935 they opened Joe Patti Seafood Company in a shop on DeVilliers Street.
