The Gulf Power Crist Plant is apparently named after "James F. Crist." The only things I see online is that [1] he wrote a book about the power companies called They Electrified the South and [2] assuming it's the same guy, he died in 1980 — a year before the book was published. Maybe everyone felt bad that this guy doing research on the company died before his book got finished? --Admin 16:31, 15 April 2008 (CDT)

- Okay, apparently James F. Crist was the president of Gulf Power from 1948-55. (I asked for some historical stuff when I was there yesterday.) — admin • talk 17:42, 10 August 2008 (CDT)
Incidentally, I picked up a copy of They Electrified the South at a rummage sale. Cute book and in great condition. Charming little card placed right inside the cover:
They Electrified the South

The Southern Company.
Alvin W. Vogtle, Jr.
President
is presented to you
as a courtesy of
The Southern Company.
Alvin W. Vogtle, Jr.
President
Looks like good reading. — dscosson • talk 12:05, 27 March 2009 (CDT)
