The Tanyard is one of Pensacola's oldest neighborhoods, located in western downtown Pensacola. It is bounded to the north by Garden Street, to the south by Main Street, to the east by Reus Street and to the west by the Pensacola city limits along Bayou Chico.
The Tanyard Neighborhood Association was formed in 2005 to address concerns about the area's appearance, possible future developments that could affect the neighborhood's "character," and the lack of a community center since the demolition of the Corinne Jones Center.[1]
