- 1969 – The Roland Davis Memorial Training Center is established in honor of Escambia County Sheriff Bill Davis's father.
- 1988 - Rock band Yes performs at the civic center, as part of their Big Generator tour.
- 2004 – Gary Bergosh reclaims the Escambia County School Board seat held by his wife Carissa following his return from deployment in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
