The Desiderio Quina House Museum (or Quina House) is a historic residence located at 204 South Alcaniz Street that dates back to about 1810 and is Pensacola's oldest building still in its original location. It was constructed of three kinds of wood (pine, cypress and oak) and features an apron roof with a double chimney of locally made brick.[1] It is named for its earliest known resident, Desiderio Quina, who purchased the home in 1821 and operated a nearby apothecary.
The building was purchased in 1966 for $7,000[2] and opened as a tourist attraction in the early 1970s. Owned and maintained by the Pensacola Historic Preservation Society, the museum is furnished by artifacts from the Federal period through the late Victorian period.
