June 16 - The Santa Rosa Island Authority renames a quarter-mile segment of Via de Luna after the late Allen Levin. Also, one of the Pelicans in Paradise sculptures designed by Levin's son Evan was dedicated to him at the Portofino Island Resort. June 16 - Emerald Coast Ministries opens the Emerald Coast Women's Ministry Recovery Center on Palmetto Avenue. June 16 - The 2007 Sankofa Juneteenth Heritage Festival is held at the Fricker Center. June 15 - Florida state regulators reject, for the fourth time, an application by Baptist Health Care to build a 96-bed acute care hospital on University Parkway. June 14 - Leandre Woods is sentenced to 15 years in state prison for the October 7, 2004 killing of Tywann Grandison. June 13 - Shana Sanders and Amanda Pearl Davis are killed in an auto accident on U.S. 90 in Pea Ridge. The driver of the other vehicle, 19-year-old Joshua Harris, is charged with DUI.
