William Davison was sheriff of Escambia County from 1823-1826.

Before becoming sheriff, Davison was a book salesman specializing in Bibles and legal texts. Davison is not listed in the 1820 Spanish census of Pensacola and may have arrived with Andrew Jackson's 1821 party, as Jackson recommended him to President Monroe as a United States Marshal. No appointment was made, and Davison was appointed sheriff by Territorial Governor William Pope Duval in 1823.
