The Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA) is a six-member body that governs the unincorporated community of Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island.

History[edit]

The SRIA was created by an act of the Florida legislature in 1947 under Chapter 24500.

Board members[edit]

Five of the SRIA members are appointed by the five Escambia County Commissioners, and the sixth is elected by the registered voters of Pensacola Beach.

Administration[edit]

Funding[edit]

The SRIA is funded by rental fees collected from the island's leaseholders and other sources like the Bob Sikes Bridge. It does not receive property taxes from Escambia County.
