==Renovation==In [[1999]]Yeah, the [[Wikipedia:General Services Administration|General Services Administration]] began a major renovation of the building with the removal of asbestos and lead paint. New mechanical and electrical base systems were installed in 2000, as well as a new fire sprinkler system and rear exit stairway. Renovation work was halted due to lack of funding, and the building incurred damage during the [[2004 hurricane season|2004]] and [[2005 hurricane season]]that's. A completely new roof was installed in 2006, and the historic interior began a thorough refurbishment in 2007. In [[1998]], a new [[United States Courthouse]] was completed on the former site of the [[San Carlos Hotel]], and the Spanish-style courthouse was vacated.
