Jere's Lounge had previously been a hair salon, and owned by cosmetologist Jere Hobbs. It was located in the 6400 block of 9th Avenue. Until the early 1980's, it advertised both topless dancers and a country music band. In 1982, the name was changed to Jere's Rock and Roll Showcase, and so changed it's theme. After approximately twelve years in business, the establishment closed in the spring of 1985.
